District Sales Manager REF: DSMZRH – Job Description

Supervision: ( Number and type of subordinates reporting to the incumbent)

Financial:  (Operating Budgets, Revenues, Cost Savings)
Assist Country Manager with the preparation of Operating Budget, revenue generating and cost saving initiatives.
Limits of Authority
Approve all administrative letters when CM is absent

 

1.Role Objective

To support the Country Manager and to promote Oman Air  and ensure territory  revenue, marketing and cost saving targets are all achieved through the implementation of creative sales and marketing initiatives

 

2. Duties and Responsibilities

Area of responsibility

Operational
  1. Plan, Organize and coordinate sales calls to travel agents and develop and grow direct links with key target markets including  corporate customers and Government institutions
  2. Set sales targets for sales staff and ensure they are met through the implementation of create selling activities
  3. Identify market segments and market opportunities and recommend suitable marketing plan for growing and developing those market segments
  4. Develop appropriate sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets by growing revenue with key market segments
  5. Analyse market and competitor activities and practices and provide recommendations to country manager
  6. Ensure all station targets related to sales, revenue and yield are achieved through implementation of selling activities
  7. Responsible for monitoring market pricing and providing accurate and timely feedback to pricing at HDQ in order to maintain a competitive tariff within agreed parameters
  8. Recommend cost controls in respect to POS
  9. Produce accurate sales forecasts and give regular updates and insights into revenue performance through professional sales presentations to senior management, government bodies, travel agents and corporate customers.
  10. Manage all internal staff issues through Country Manager and set standards for the station to reflect a positive and professional Oman Air Image
  11. Motivate staff and recommend reward for the staff according to productivity
  12. Create a cordial working atmosphere to increase the productivity of the staff
  13. Identify potential front line agents and ascertain their productivity for possible rewards
  14. Negotiate, implement and deliver appropriate incentive schemes for travel agent and corporate customers ensuring appropriate targets are set to minimize the risk of revenue dilution to  deliver win/win scenarios for both parties
  15. Monitor BSP arrangement in the area and ensure funds are received from BSP/Agents as per the agreed schedule
  16. Update Management with all relevant statistics and liaise with customer relations officer through Country Manager for all passenger complaints
  17. Prepare career development program for staff and ensure staff adherence to all management decisions
  18. Other responsibilities assigned by the management as and when necessary
